Yes. Dehancer has a free version you can download and use on your own footage before you pay. Here is what it includes, what the limits are, and how students can get a discount.
How the free version works
According to Dehancer’s license documentation, the free version is a demo that runs without payment and is fully functional, with all tools and film profiles. The limits:
- A watermark appears on the preview and on rendered footage.
- The LUT Generator is disabled.
Once you buy a license and activate it, the watermark disappears. The documentation does not mention a time limit for the free version.
How to try Dehancer
- Download the plugin for your software from dehancer.com/downloads.
- Install it and apply it to a clip in DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro or another supported app.
- Test the film profiles, grain, halation and bloom on your own footage.
- If you like it, buy a plan and enter FILMLOOK10 at checkout for 10% off.
Dehancer student discount
Dehancer’s FAQ says students and faculty members can get a discount. You request it through the Dehancer support form and attach a student or faculty ID, ideally one that shows its validity date. Dehancer then sends you a code.
Whether the student code can be combined with FILMLOOK10 is not stated by Dehancer. Only one code fits in the promo code field, so compare both and use the one that gives you the lower total.
